Recommends for Universal External HD Adapters for Thinkpad R HDs

#1 Post by jimwg » Wed Oct 21, 2015 5:50 pm

Greetings:

I wish to purchase one of those universal USB HD dock adapters which just entails inserting a bare hard drive in a slot to use it as another USB drive. I am looking for one that can accommodate hard drives for both the R60e and R31 if such exists (as low cost as possible) and if no single solution the most preferred of both cases. Non-techie I have Amazoned and Googled for these and just overwhelmed by the offerings out there so I decided to get the best recommendations from the horses mouth here.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Apricorn Drivewire is one of the most universal units that I know (and have).

Thanks for super-swift answer! Just to be sure since the ad doesn't say so, but there's no need for any additional connectors to handle the kind of older different hard drives the R31 uses?

Thanks!

If you are looking for a 'cloning' dock, you need something else.
The Drivewire is only for one HD at the time, be it IDE (40-pin or 44-pin) or SATA.
No other adapters required.
