Both of these are sheer junk, not to mention *way* too small. If you're going to get an SSD, do it right: SanDisk Extreme Pro, Intel 730 or Samsung Pro series.
SANDISK X110 ? sheer junk ?

this ?

as for size i do not need it really , as I will not use this pc as a server or archiver ( or gaming or similar uses )
I just need base functionality , reliability , fast enough and the good 4:3 screen .. 64gb is more then enough for my use

Yes. The second least-impressive offering from SanDisk.

You do understand that smaller SSDs are *significantly* slower than their larger siblings, correct?

no as I'm not practical about ssd , but it must be that way if you say so
will look for a 128gb sandisk , even though I'm pretty sure I will never use them..

Do yourself a favour and don't go for less than 240GB...they are inexpensive enough nowadays...

it seems that the Hydis Viewiz ECO HV150UX1-100 15'' uxga landed in the mail today ..
i plan to put it at work on the week end ..
hope the operation of swapping the lcd panel is easy enough

i guess i will be following this procedure even though it is for a 15.4'' r61 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtRV6InQgv0
or I will look for a similar one for a 15'' t60..

i did the operation overnight , while not completely easy for some reasons ( glued front frame and partially sticked video cable parts.. and the lid closing mechanism which is not particularly brilliant on the r61 .. i.e.. ) it was feasible and successfull .

turning it on did not get any wow factor to me because it doesn't feel any better then the t43 screen I've been using years , on my eyes , maybe a tad less brilliant too : I noticed that this 1600x1200 uxga screen + system produced quite more minuscle icons ,writings etc.
luminance didn't seem over the roof too, inclining the screen from front-face to little less or so it changes and looses quite something in it , anyhow from little less then a parallel view the screen is still visible and nearly readable so i suppose it is a legit BOE Hydis

I will need to test it better , to do a side to side comparsion as I can in the weekend

i'm pretty sure that while the t43p screen is also 1600x1200 it is more readable , as a stated with bigger icons lettering and browsing windows contours/tabs too i.e.
there must be some settings for it on control panel if i recall some dpi scale or similar to adjust

I also wonder if a t60 front screen frame could pop in the place of the r61 one
I really don't like the 2 hooks sticking out on top of the lids..
as well as the boldness of the front frame

now i 'm waiting a last component to do cpu+mem+sdd upgrade and put w7 or w10 on it , still undecided

ok , so far I've been able to adjust settings to have the new screen looking almost exactly like the t43p one , that is great looking .

2 things i've noticed , this screen have some bulb-light leak on black screens, that is there is some brightness whereas there should be black on the left side and on the right bottom corner.
once the screen is on and after the black screen ( with desktop/images/colors ) the thing is completely unnoticeable . it seems a no-problem for me at the moment , I can live with that .

the second thing is that when i unplug , or replug the power adaptor from the notebook , the screen goes black for 1 seconds .
not very happy about it . did not happen on the original 1024x768 xga creen

2 software issues i have to solve still :
fn keys not working even after i made the lenovo power management , access and hotkeys updates , control V and control C not working too

Oversimplifying and generalizing of a *far more complex* issue...

Well, I guess you took the safe route. Once you prove that setup working, you can move onto 2x4GB.

just a fast update
I have had a blast with the "modded" r61i
it has been working flawlessly , great overall performance and super happy ..

apart from a fact...
with t43 and t61 i was used ( pun flames and rolleyes allowed ) to grab it by the frame ( ala Trump) for moving it while working and/or on the go .. been doing that for years .. if not a decade .. and never had any problem

the r61i lid is plastic likely
so it eventually just broke some times ago ( first time i saw it my face went in no seconds to multiple horror expressions ) , that is : the hinges detached from the lid , and some plastic just broke, leaving a nice pretty big hole in the lid corner .

needless to say , the hinge/lid turning mechanics and operation are severely compromised now , and I must operate it very carefully to avoid a worsening of the disease.

I'll snap a picture and post , as it is now and after replacement of the broken pieces
