Trival: Running FinalFantasy on Z61t?

#1 Post by jimwg » Sat May 27, 2017 10:49 pm

Greetings,

I know this is a trivial game issue, but since I'm able to run Final Fantasy XIV tolerably well on my T400, I'd like to push it by doing so on my Z61t. I'm able to boot FFXIV to the sign-in screen but on loading it stops with a DirectX 1000000000 error. My machine assets reporter states that my Z61t has DirectX-11 loaded though FF says it's DirectX9c. Some user boards stay flush all boot-up apps and services via msconfig to run the game on a "clean" machine but I'm asking here first in case anyone is also running this game on a Z61t.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Take note that the Z61t's graphics is 2 generations older than the T400's, and I'm talking about the T400 with Intel Graphics.

The Intel GMA 950 inside the Z61t is laughably bad for gaming, period. Only old games like Warcraft III / DotA 1 would work. I haven't even bothered checking if C&C 3 Tiberium Wars would work.
