A31p sound driver issue

#1 Post by wujstefan » Sat Dec 29, 2018 2:29 am

Hello,

I have some trouble with A31p running on Windows 2000 SP4 - to be precise, driver problems. I just can't make the audio work; all the drivers I've tried just do not want to install dropping errors related to directX missing. TRying to install directX does not work as well; it actually should be already in there with the system (at least 7.0).

Have you tried installing the February 2010 release of DirectX 9.0c? This is the latest release of DirectX that works with the original Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, and it may probably fix this problem.

There is a patch you need to install first if running win2k and then reinstall the audio driver. It was a pain on my A31, can't remember the exact process I went through but I did get it to work.
