A31p Bluetooth

#1 Post by MikalE » Wed Jul 08, 2020 3:15 pm

After installing Widcom bluetooth drivers from Lenovo for the A31p it tells me a network cable is unplugged. WTF??? Bluetooth is supposed to be wireless.

I haven't started trying to get my JBL Flip4 speaker running yet. I was just surprised at this error message. It appears as a pop up balloon in the system tray.

What's up with the network cable and what an I not understanding about this primitive Bluetooth?

The BT is turned on so I would imagine there is no yellow flag in the device mgr.

Can you even get bluetooth audio to work with these vintage level kind of bluetooth cards? I thought you need Bluetooth 2.0 to get audio to work? And even then from my experience the audio quality is pretty bad and sounds like MP3 files with a 90Kbits bitrate

I don't think so. I fooled around with it for several more hours yesterday with no success.

The A31p recognized the JBL Flip4 by name, but would not connect.

By any chance, are you running XP SP3 on your A31p? If that is the case, I might be able to help.

Assuming that your A31p's Bluetooth functionality is provided by the internal CDC slot (via the Bluetooth Daughter Card), could you update its firmware if you have not done that?

Then, uninstall the outdated Widcomm Bluetooth Stack and install Toshiba's most recent Bluetooth Stack. Once you have done that, please report back. I am rather fascinated by Bluetooth 1.1's usability, despite its obvious age.
