Interesting A22m Problem

#1 Post by NipplesTheCat » Mon Jul 11, 2005 2:40 am

I hit function and save to disk on my laptop and when I went to turn it back on the fan turns on as do the lights but no video and it doesnt sound like its spinning the hard drive. No doubt has to do with me dropping it off my bed running the other day. It thinks its running...buts its not. Dont thinkpad do pad do!

Since you dropped it, you might have jarred something loose. Pull and reseat everything that can be pulled.

Hmm well it works when hooked up to my monitor. Nothing on the LCD though. Any thoughts?

I'm still riding the "something got knocked loose" train. And now I think it may be something connecting your screen to the rest of the laptop. You can try to open it up and investigate if you're inclined to mess with it, and possibly make matters worse, or just use it as-is.

Well the case is already mostly apart. What would be related to the backlighting?

Don't know, you'll have to look up the service manual. Just make sure everything is connnected securely. You*did* check to make sure you hadn't accidentally hit Fn+F7 and toggled off the screen, right?
