RAM for my A31p

#1 Post by gehageh » Sat Mar 20, 2021 7:01 am

I still use my laptop bought in 2003. It has 2X512 Mb of RAM . I recently found some used RAM, 2x1 Gb PC-2700-333 Mhz CL 2.5. But the one is KINGSTON KVR333X64SC25 and the other one is TRANSCENT DDR PC-2700-333 mHZ. Is it possible to operate together or I must find 2 exactly the same? Just now the seller told me that it has one more TRANSCENT and I think that it will be better to buy 2 Transcent. What do you say?

If the two modules have the same speed and timing, then it doesn't really make a difference whether they have the same manufacturers name on the label or not. On the other hand, if one feels it's better with matching labels, then there is psychological advantage that makes the computer feel like it performs better. So that make it better, right?
Collection = T430 - T500 - R400 - X300 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - R61 (15" SXGA+) - T60 - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P
