R32- black screen...

I just inherited an R32. I'm new to laptop use and by accident closed the lid while working. Now I have a black screen with nothing on it, and nothing seems to work. I tried shutting the lid and opening it again, pressing various keys, with no success. Is this standby mode or hibernating mode? In any case are there any suggestions to make it come to life again? Thanks.

You should be able to close the lid.

Did you inherit it because it had issues?

If you think it is stuck in a sleep mode, unplug it, remove the battery, wait a few and hook it all back up and see what happens...
