#1 Post by solidpro » Sun Jun 05, 2022 8:27 am

I've got a couple of R50e machines. I can't seem to find anywhere whats different about an R50, R50p and R50e?

Also what's the difference between an R61 and R61i?

Thanks!

R50 = standard model
R50e = lowest level economy model
R50p = workstation

But to get a better overview of all those oldies, Google for: ltwbook_2013.pdf

'i' suffix'd ThinkPads are economy versions of the regular model, often times they have Celeron, Pentium or i3 processors, while the others usually come with an Core 2 Duo, i5 or i7.

R61i has a high likely chance of coming with a Pentium dual core, or a Core 2 Duo T5xxx CPU, though there was one with a T8100. Also they only come with Integrated graphics, which can be a good thing because nVidia graphics can fail due to their failing BGA solder. 15.4" only came in WXGA, though the 14.1" might come in WXGA+.
