Hello,
I have a R60e and it came with an Intel Core Duo T2400.
The T2400 does not support 64 bits.
I have a spare Intel Pentium T2310 that came from another laptop.
Today I tried installing the T2310 but the laptop won't POST.
When I press the Power Button the LEDs flash and then go out. After that the Charging indicator won't come up again.
I have to unplug the power supply cable, and plug it again.
I am not using a baterry.
Is this CPU not compatible, it seems, from the hardware maintenance manual, that it should be. The manual mentions that CPU, I am not sure if it is part of the R60e or the R60.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

R60e with Pentium T2310 not POSTING
Re: R60e with Pentium T2310 not POSTING
The R60 and R61 series share hardware maintenance manuals but their CPUs are not interchangeable. R60 uses socket M CPUs, R61 socket P, one of which is the T2310.

Re: R60e with Pentium T2310 not POSTING
I see, thank you.
Core Duo T2400 is Socket M
Intel Pentium T2310 is Socket P
My R60e has to have socket M. Seems odd, I didn't have any problem fitting the CPU, as expect I didn't do any force, and the CPU align correctly.
I will try to check tomorrow, I hope I didn't ruin the T2310, but it wouldn't be a bug loss anyways.

Re: R60e with Pentium T2310 not POSTING
It's the Pentium T2130 that's Socket M, not the T2310 that you have. That said, the T2130 I mentioned is just a 32-bit processor.
What you probably want is a Core 2 Duo T7200 or T7400-- both are 64-bit Socket M CPUs with decent clock speeds (2GHz for the T7200, 2.16GHz for the T7400).
