Does anyone know of a way to remove the Hard drive password, or the BIOS setup password on this model?

Same as the others, I suspect.

You boot the machine, press F1(?) to enter the BIOS Setup, and enter the existing password.

Then you go the Security menu -> Password and change the password to the empty password.

Do the same for the hard drive (user and master) password.

It should not prompt for the password any longer.

Only one problem... I bought the laptop, and the previous owner never told me what the passwords were... Can't get into Setup. Will a HDD replacement take care of the problem?

Ahh, that's different.

You have to get the passwords from the seller.

That is, after all, the point of having these passwords. They're anti-theft features so that if someone, say, steals a laptop, then whoever they sell it to is left with a useless laptop.

Great... So I'm pretty much stuck... Haven't been able to get ahold of the previous owner in almost a year...

No jumper settings to reset the BIOS completely?
