R51 BSOD on idle: Blue Screen IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

#1 Post by lophiomys » Thu Aug 11, 2005 11:05 am

I've encountered this 0xA BSOD twice now
while my thinkpad was ildling on my desk, myself working on a work pc besides.

the error message tells me
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and "to install all hardware correctly",
and it saves a memory image to disk in a lengthy operation.
afterwards it reboots and contiunes to boot WinXP normally...

according to MobileMeter temps are below 40 degrees Celsius.
recently I have used IBM Software Installer to update all software.
BIOS is also most recent.

Does anyone know what the cause of this BSOD could be?

It's a memory error.

Reseat all memory, make sure all memory is compatible with your system (PC2700).
