A31 - adding wireless and bluetooth antennae

#1 Post by crg7 » Wed Aug 24, 2005 10:51 pm

I own a Thinkpad A31 (not A31p) and would like to add wireless (802.11g) and bluetooth.
I understand that installing an internal antenna is not a simple task.
Are there any pccards with built-in (or external) antennae for wireless and bluetooth?
Any recommendations?

Best
Reddy

PS: I purchased this A31 (262-D3U) in early 2003. Does it need any updates?

Of both kinds, there are dozens, if not hundreds. Your local electronics store will be happy to treat You to a suitable model. Make sure they cut me a commission (-:
While all wireless cards have an internal antenna, some have an externally accessible plug for an external antenna. Keep Your eyes open.

You'll prolly have to install drivers (Windows) or recompile Your kernel or load the appropriate kernel module (Linux/BSDs).
