Installing Windows XP A21e

I have the A21e thinkpad with 192mb RAM. I'm going to install windows XP on it but I'm a bit confused with the Windows XP suplement files. Do I have to install them after or before I install XP? Also I'm not very good with Windows and I was wondering if someone could give me a better instalation description then what IBM has given.
