My HD started to make a clicking sound and stopped working. I was able to started it again and do a CHKDSK. It gave me few errors that apparently were corrected and when it displayed 100% completed, the HD started the clicking sound, I got a bunch of msgs, a blue screen appeared for a few seconds and then it rebooted. After rebooting a message appeared saying that the HD was not installed.
I tried one more time and then the Intel boot agent kicked in and gave me the following errors:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
Operating system not found
I read that I could try to find an adaptor for connecting the 2.5" laptop's HD to an ordinary IDE cable for desktop. The BIG question is, how can I access the HD and uninstall it so I can connect it to the IDE bus in the desktop.
Sorry for the long message, but I am desperate.
Thanks,
LEH
