T21 Display problems...

#1 Post by jsolo_357 » Fri Sep 09, 2005 3:16 am

Saw this in a previous post, but couldn't find it thru "search": T21 2647-8BU. When powering on, the display will be the wrong size, and shifted down and to the right. During POST the IBM logo is visibly larger and off to the bottom right (the press F1 & F12 prompts are no longer visible.)

In windows a similar effect is seen as the entire desktop is similarly shifted. A black border is visible on the left and top of the screen and portions of the screen are missing on the bottom and right side." Altering HV expansion in BIOS and adjusting Display properites have proven unsuccessful. Monitor resolution is 1400x1050.

Any suggestions?

That is most likely a bad LCD...

Hi

I'm having the same problem but it is intermitent.

What is the best way to sort this out, do I need a new screen? Is it possible to swap it out myself (built many desktops from scratch but never delved inside a laptop before).

Anybody help?

Brian.
