Opengl on A21E

#1 Post by a21edude » Sun Sep 18, 2005 11:39 am

Hi! Is there any way I can get opengl to work on my A21E? I really want to get Call Of Duty & Medal of Honor: Allied Assault to work but it fails to start, and gives me a error message saying opengl couldn`t load. Thanks!

Because you don't have NEAR the graphics card for the job.

The A21E has an ATI Rage Mobility M. From personal experience, I know that many games will refuse to run on that GPU - my X21 has the same GPU.

If you can get these games to run in a "software renderer" mode, they'll run, but it'll be a slideshow.

Also, you might not have enough RAM to run them, anyway.

An A30 is probably the absolute least amount of power that could run those games. I'd go to something with a recent dedicated GPU, such as an R52 with the X300. The R50/51 with the MR9000 MIGHT do. The R50p with the FireGL T2 will also work. Avoid the R50e, and any R51/52 with Intel graphics, or any R50/51 with the MR7500.
