Who has and who can ...

Who has placed an order for a Z? (I'm tempted but still leaning towards an X series). :D

Who can give us a mini-review? Wackydan, I believe you said you held one yesterday ... was it on and any (loud) fan issues?

They are on a trade show floor.... really hard to tell because of all the surrounding noise.

Well I've played with a few at this point .. both the Z60m and Z60t models in black and silver trim configurations. I found that in general they ran as smoothly as their T series counterparts. I found the fan to be as variable as well, only really getting what I would call noisy under heavy load. On the fit and finish side of things, it was as well constructed as a T series, but size wise I found the 15.4 honking big .. maybe I have been spending too much time on my X41 lately, but it was freakin huge to carry around. On the downside, I would say I miss the extra touches that were ThinkPad related. For example, the red and blue colour on the keyboard buttons .. I missed themt as soon as I looked at it. Also, the current product lineup was great for techs, as the screws underneath we labelled by size and graphically represented on the bottom .. which has gone away (at least on this machine.) Battery was very big (Xtended) and the fit was a little too loose for my liking, but then again mine were pre-production models. Overall I really liked them, but I wouldn't give up my T series for one at this point in time, as widescreen isn't what floats my boat.

Gotta agree with MobileGuru - I miss the red and blue bits on the mouse buttons and I don't like the new shape of the buttons either.

The reason for there not being any screw size guides on the bottom is that all screws on the base that need to be removed for customer removal parts use the same size screw so it should be even easier than before.
