r32 wireless problems?

#1 Post by shames » Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:34 pm

Hi i have a ibm thinkpad r32 model 2658 BQU
and the wireless on this laptop is so messed up.
Once long ago when i first got it i had the wireless workin for a day.
I changed nothing and next day it doesn't work
I have tried the wireless out at my school and at my friends house and at most it will see the connection and try to connect but just drop connection and try connecting again.
it will never actually connect.
when i check the version it says 2.00.2 not 2.00.2a like the driver version says
I have tried the intel high rate wifi drivers, the ibm high rate drivers, and the cisco airo drivers and none seem to work reliably.

I'm on windows xp with the r32 2658 BQU
if anyone know how to fix and get the wireless working reliable than any help is greatly appreciated.

Also on a side note the speakers dont' seem to work.. am i doing something wrong? I installed the sound drivers and it works thru the ear phone port but speakers are no go
thanks and please help!!!!!!!

i'm currently running the install and it's going thru installing all this crap

it says that the ibm high rate wifi lan card wasn't installed even tho i used the driver off their site..
we'll see what happens
can i use wireless without using access connections?
I hear it's not too good

Usually, I let XP manage the wireless connection. I have found that I have more problems allowing the manufacturers software to handle anything, not just on my personal thankpad, but on hundreds of machines I have handled over the last few years.
