A31P HTU power on problem - pl help

Hi All,

I have an A31P 2653-HTU laptop which i bought on 2002. Recently I am facing a strange problem with it. When I the press the power button to power on the laptop nothing comes in the monitor except for the lights. If I repeatedly press the power switch the system boots up normally. Now a days, my laptop is not starting at all.

Could any one pl suggest what is going on with my laptop.
