R50e cannot boot up

#1 Post by realdan » Wed Oct 05, 2005 11:20 am

Here is what happened
It displayed the startup IBM screen,
The hdd started spinning and
after that i can only see a blank black screen and a cursor(msdos type) at the top left.,
the hdd stopped spinning

i can access the BIOS
when i changed the boot from quick to diagnostic
i saw that the memory check is fine. and after the bootagent load, it displayed the above mentioned blank screen screen.

what is wrong with it? :(

---------
update 6-10:
---------
It is turning out to be OS problems
I can now get to the windows XP startup screen only, it just hang there
But there is a catch, i can only get to it by pressing f12 to get to the boot option menu and choosing the hdd.
Then i can get to the menu which you normally see when u choose safe mode in desktop by pressing f8.
I choose safemode, i found out that the drivers load stopped at mup.sys..i think...after that it just hangs
