Which HDD adapter for Portable Drive Bay 2000?

#1 Post by crg7 » Mon Oct 10, 2005 3:31 pm

Hello:

This is for an A31 (2652-D3u).

The Portable Drive Bay 2000 (accepts Ultrabay 2000 media and storage devices), Part. No. 19K4480 accepts HDDs provided they come in a HDD adapter for Ultrabay.

There seems to be three types of HDD adapters (for Ultrabay 2000) - 08K6066, 08K6067 and 08K6068. Which one should I use with Portable Drive Bay?

Are there any differences between the 3 HDD adapter?

Best
Reddy

mine are part number 08K6067 and 08K6066 (each is marked with both part numbers) which accept up to a 12.5 mm drive.

Where did you get these part numbers?

I'm not sure what 08K6066 is, but 08K6067 and 08K6068 are the same part, and this would be the correct part to use with a portable drive bay 2000.

Will a 9.5mm drive require some sort of caddy to make up the extra space?

08k6066 is the earlier version of 08k6068 and works with A31, among others.
Got the numbers off ibm and the web.

You'll not need any caddy for a 9.5 mm drive. Has a plastic lever which flips down to hold any drive securely against the IDE connector.
