Buying/extending extended warranty on T23? Battery warranty

I have two T23's that have a little warranty left on them(2 months, 4 months). I am very capable of doing any repairs to these but wondered if buying/extending the warranty was worth the $$. I've already replaced the LCD's, swapped the cpus(both were 1GHz, now 1.2GHz) with eBay parts.

Second item, I bought two new IBM 4000mA batteries for the T23's in July off eBay. One battery has only 12 cycles on it and will only run for 30mins before dying. The mfgr date is May 2005. Would IBM/Lenovo warranty the batt regardless where I bought it? I havent called them to them yet.
