Use diskpart
Hi aki,
I also faced that problem before. if you are using WinXP then go to the command prompt and issue "diskpart" command. after that issue "list volume", and I think you will see the 5 gig hidden volume. After that issue "delete volume ?" which you have to subsitute the "?" with the volume number you saw when you issue "list volume".
I think you already solve the problem when you reading this sentence.. congratulations!!! cheers!!!

If you can at all live with the service partition, leave it alone. . it houses your recovery and diagnostics. If you have a problem down the road and have to call for support, not having the diagnostics available may make things more difficult in dealing with tech support.
However, to get rid of it, disable the IBM Predesktop area in the security section of the bios. That will make the service partition available as "free space". You'll need partition magic or something along those lines to add that space to your C drive, but you should see it in disk management at this point.
The reason your hard drive size seems funny sometimes is that hardware manufacturers use the definition 1GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Windows uses the definition 1GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes (2^30). So your 120G hard drive according to the manufacture has 120 * 1,000,000,000 bytes, but according to Windows will have 120 * 1,000,000,000 / 1,073,741,824 = 111.76GB. Or maybe it's the MB definition they use, I forget which, but that's the general idea.
