Copying HDD and wireless with Dial-Up

#1 Post by FrankM » Sun Nov 06, 2005 9:25 am

I got my extra memory installed no problem, have 1 GB now, also installed the 2.0 USB PCMCIA card and powered hub. I received the 100 GB 5400 rpm HDD and get the 2nd bay adapter Monday. I need to copy the original 20 GB HDD to the new 100.

This is my plan, will it work?
Load the new 100 into the ultrabay 2000 bay, use Casper 3.0 XP to copy the old HDD to the new, then remove the 100 from the ultrabay, and the 20 from the internal location and put the 100 into the internal HDD location. Does Casper work as well as they say? Can't find out much about it.

I also want to get a wireless link between my A30 and my desktop, I need to use my laptop outside at my telescope but get data to the desktop in the house. I have a dial-up connection so a router is out. Will this product work? I want to install a wireless PCMCIA card in the laptop and a wireless USB in the desktop.
