Could bad CMOS battery cause this ?
Could bad CMOS battery cause this ?
Last week I noticed the time on my T22 wasn't correct. Reset it and later noticed the time was off again. Then I started getting random shutdowns, blue error screens, and now it will only start sometimes and stay running for a few minutes before freezing. Could this be the battery ?
Re: Could bad CMOS battery cause this ?
Not likely, Bad or dead CMOS battery will only cause time / date error, and maybe some IRQ conflict on devices.scanyon2 wrote:Could bad CMOS battery cause this ?

Could it be ?
Ok, just after I had made arrangements to have the computer sent in for repair I decided to try one last thing.
I took out both RAM chips and tried them one at a time. At first in one slot and then the other. Each time the T22 powered up fine ( it had finally gotten to where it wouldn't boot up at all)
Put them both back in and it has been running like normal now for two days. Even the clock is keeping time again with or without being on AC power.
Don't know if this will apply to others with similar problems but it may be worth a try.
Thanks for those who responded to earlier posts.
