Max HDD on R50e (installing a toshiba mk1032gax 100gb)

#1 Post by tabithaboof » Sun Nov 27, 2005 7:32 am

I have an R50e I am trying to upgrade and I am looking to install a rather reasonably priced (150 dollars ish) Toshiba MK1032 100gb 2.5 inch drive. I dont know of any reason this would be a problem but I just thought I would check. Is the TP going to recognise such a large HDD without any problem?

This is the one I am interested in

100MB drive for R50

I don't see why size would be a problem since Lenovo now has a 7200rpm, 100GB drive of its own for an outrageous $350. I hate to admit it, but I'll probably just bite the bullet and pay it and make any issues Lenovo's problem for another year.

Well, I too the plunge and threw the 100 gb in and managed to install it with more or less no problems. I dont know if it makes much difference but I put in a 10GB partiton for apps and os and the remainder for data and junk.
