No drivers, help!

#1 Post by sebastian » Sun Nov 27, 2005 11:56 am

I accidentally formatted my harddisk without backing up the IBM Tools. How can I solve this problem? My Thinkpad is R50e.

You can go here:

to download drivers & utilities for your machine

Here's a more detailed explanation of what happened:

While installing Windows XP, I forgot to backup the C:\IBMTOOLS directory. Windows starts but I don't have the drivers. Also the Access IBM button doesn't work.

How can I get all the needed drivers easily? It's hard to download the drivers in the link given by dsvochak one by one and I don't know which ones I need to install. I'm also not sure if it's the correct version for my laptop.

Also, how many megabytes are the total file sizes of all the drivers?

Thank you very much!!!

if you click on the link which says

Update your drivers and software automatically

it should download everything you need using the thinkvantage software installer. I have and R50e and after installation the drivers are about 200 mb in total.
Japanese R50e(1834-E8J), English XP, 1.5 ghz Celeron M, 1240 MB ram, 100gb HD, CD-RW/DVD

My BIOS version is only 2.04.

Do I really need to upgrade/update my BIOS?

If yes, how?

Thanks again.
