A31p USB Upgrade

#1 Post by Seweryn » Tue Nov 29, 2005 11:24 am

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade the USB in A31p to 2.0 but not using the PCIMCIA PC Card? I mean any modification on main board?

Regards,
Seweryn

at a minimum it would require soldering... but that's assuming the pinning for USB1 and USB2 chipsets were the same, and I'm virtually positive they aren't.

So no, PCMCIA all the way.

You can use the Ultrabase docking station which has a build in PCI slot (and an ultrabay). Just put a regular USB 2.0 pci card in the ultrabase.

Some A31P models have a firewire connector which is also quite fast.
