A22e and non-Travelstar HDD

#1 Post by axs » Fri Jul 09, 2004 7:32 pm

So my original 30GB Travelstar went kaput the other day (it's still sort-of active but it's head-crashing really bad..).. So i'm looking for a new one..

Specifically i'm looking at the Seagate Momentus 40GB 5400RPM ones, (ST94811A) due to their bang-for-the-buck.. it seems to have all of the same specifications as the 40GB Travelstars (except it draws fewer amps and has 8MB cache), so am I right in assuming it'll work (with the latest BIOS update)??

...anybody?

I mean IDE/ATA100 is IDE/ATA100, no matter the brand, right?

Any recent vintage 2.5" HD will work in your A22.

Personally, I wouldn't touch a Seagate laptop HD with a bargepole!
