Duo Display Problem

#1 Post by David Leedy » Mon Dec 05, 2005 2:57 pm

I have an A31p that I'm trying to setup in dual display. It's connected to a mini-dock and the native resolution is 1600 x 1200. I have a samsung LCD that runs @ 1280x1024. I've bumped my laptop respoution down to 1280x1024. I'm running XP.

I want my thinkpad LCD to be monitor 2 and the samsung to be monitor 1. This works fine except when I do this the thinkpad screen doesn't do expansion to fill the screen. I have black borders around everything. If I change my thinkpad display to monitor 1 then screen expansion works normally.

Does anyone know if there is a workaround to this?

Thanks

Dave

I use a program called ultramon. Check it out. http://www.ultramon.com it has support for display profiles and customizing the primary monitor as well as reassigning the primary monitor.

it's a multi-display manager. It will change the displays for you, put a smart taskbar on your extra displays, give you buttons to move windows in one click, and allow for custom screen savers. It's worth the look.

Also - if you are running mutiple displays - stay away from IBM presentation manager. it will royally mess up your display settings when using multiple monitors.

Having mutiple monitors rocks!

Strange. My experience with IBM Presentation Manager is very good. I find it simplifies usinge multiple monitors.... Make sure you use the newest version....
