Delayed shipment

#1 Post by delay » Tue Dec 06, 2005 11:24 am

I placed an order on 10/25/05 for a Z60m with an estimated ship date of 12/06/05. Now it appears they've pushed that date to 01/06/05.

Has anyone heard anything about the new Apple Intel-based laptops? They're also coming out on 01/06/05 too...

Lenovo really sucks!

Ordered a z60m in November...

#3 Post by laughingtonto » Thu Dec 08, 2005 1:37 am

...and it arrived today. Slipped a 7200 rpm Hitachi 80GB SATA drive in to the replace the 5400rpm that shipped with it, loaded Windows Media Center Edition on it and I'm off and running.

So far, so good. I've got the 1680x1050 display (200 nits I believe) and it's more than bright enough for me. Definitely outshines my X41 tablet.

Could you let me know how good the swxga+ screen is? I returned my HP because the matte finish on the screen ended up blurring text a bit. How clear is the thing?

Display is excellent. Good video performance. I also have to say that I connect to an external through the advanced dock using the DVI connection and what a quality difference it makes compared to my X41t using the analog connection.

I bought z60t today through education personal program after I saw the build your own z60t 3 in stock sign. But estimated ship date is 1/26/2006 . So I emailed the guy and asked why. He or she said that the unit itself is in stock and some parts that I ordered are not in stock (I didn't ordered nothing fancy though) and it might be shipped by end of dec but not guranteed. Wish me a luck

Thanks

I ordered my z60t as well with the Education deal, but the support is just far from best like it used to be with IBM. I asked them one simple question and I got 2 compeltly useless replies. I cant imagine whats goining to happen if i actually have a real problem...

May I ask the problem that you had that you needed to call IBM for? Curious as I had some issues just trying to contact the Sales group.

Just call a regular sales department. That is what I did, they picked it up in 2 min and resolve my issue. And once they redirect to me education department, I waited like 10-15min to speak with someone very rude.

I asked about a shipping question, since on the site it states shipping is free for standard. I however picked the 2-day option, and was calling in to see if it was free or did i have to pay 50 dollars since it didnt show up in the total.

Emailed them, since its not a techinal question, in email i got 3 different phone numbers. desided to call one of them, waited for 20 minutes when i got some guy that had no clue. Ill try again on a weekday, but is this really such a complicated question...

Here is what I posted on the off-topic part of the forum

ordered thinkpad today through educational employ.
And in the front page of website.

It says that

"Standard shipping is included!. You save big on every order you place online. (red color)Standard shipping is included with every online order (red color end), plus it is combinable with promotions. Place your order today!"

But in the process of check out they charge $30. Anyway I ordered it because I want to get the computer asap. So after I finish up ordering I called up lenovo and waited 15minutes to talk with very rude customer representative. And I asked about the shipping and I sent the link of the website to him.

And he says that shipping in included but not free.

My order status is "IN PROCESS".

What does that mean? Does it mean that in the process of configuring system?

Just checking, is laughingonto the same person as delay? In other words did you get your laptop two days after you got the delay email? That gives me hope!

THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL

The lenovo was being shipped from kowloon bay Hong Kong to Riverside CA.

Seems like FDA wants to investigate each and every shipment from china.
