Hot Deal: IBM Thinkpad R50e for $699

Amazon/J&R has the Lenovo IBM Thinkpad R50e PM-1.6GHz 15" Notebook PC for $700 + $14 shipping = $714. Tax for NY residents.

Thanks for the heads up, I ordered it yesterday and got a bonus upgrade to 768 mg RAM; I suspect that Lenovo is closing these out, this was cheaper than any of the alternatives (student, EPP, etc).

Amazon is no way associated to anyone here. I was simply passing the good deal along to fellow members. If you would have an opportunity to buy a laptop for far less than IBM would charge you, wouldn't you do it? :)

Since you're relatively new here and Bill is very low-key about it, you may not realize that Bill 1) sells ThinkPads and 2) is the forum owner.
