a31(XP) start problem - atheroes card

#1 Post by cbcb3 » Sun Dec 11, 2005 3:37 pm

just put an atheros a/b/g Card in my a31. everything works fine except upon restart it shows" error ,more than one network card installed" on screen. can this error message be eliminated?

also, now XP(sp2) takes at least as much as twice the time it usually took to load explorer.exe. is this because of seaching wireless network at startup?

ibm has a power control software to enable or disable bluetooth card. is there a similar software for atheroes card?

Had the same error on my A31P. Switched to a Intel 2915 A/B/G card which has no problems.

There is no 'hardware' switch to turn off the wireless. You can disable the connection in 'Network Connections' (right click). I would suggest to disable all the connections you are not using.
