A20M wiress network

#1 Post by davidfarmer » Tue Dec 13, 2005 9:39 pm

I've tried a DLink PCMCIA and a Belkin USB network card, and while they both see the network and try to connect, I simply can't get a connection. Is it something about this older machine, or Windows (98SE)? Does IBM make an internal WIFI card for these older machines??

Machine is about 5 years old, and the IBM/Lenovo site doesn't have much info on accessories.

no help, huh?? My Dlink PCMCIA adapter worked occasionally (1 out of 5 reboots it would work), but the Belking USB wouldn't connect at all (although it thought it was working).

Guess I'll have to run more Cat5!

I've only used Linksys PCMCIA cards in my 770s and have never had a problem with XP but did have to reload the driver once in Win98 SE. Other than that no other problems with W98se.
