Un-usual coloring of TFT-Display while starting the TP A31P

#1 Post by friedrich-eugen » Sun Jul 11, 2004 5:01 am

Hello,

while starting the TP the TFT shows the color "white" not as white but some kind of rose/lila in the first moments, an effect well known from CRT-Monitors, when slowly "passing away" ...

After some seconds (a few) it becomes properly white and it stays white.

Should I let IBM-Service exchange the inverter and/or graphics-board?

Thanks in advance for any comments

UPDATE: Looking into the old forum did the job:

(1) It is a sign (early sign) of a dying backlight,
(2) It is covered by IBM warranty, if warranty is still on,
(3) You should have it done (serviced),
(4) IBM did accept a call even on Sunday (in Germany ... !)

Ceterum censeo, Bill:
Please keep the old forum open, if You can't (or do not want to) index it and/or make a data & Info "-warehouse" of it.

Thanks a Lot to all of You

Friedrich-Eugen
