PHEW, finally it is up.

Also, we'll be including the Z60m in a gaming article looking at mobile GPU performance in the newest games.

Great article, really needed to see a good review on the z60m. Still a little puzzled between the two z60s, its either a good GPU or light weight and both would ahve been helpful in college.

Looking forward to the GPU article, hopefully some budget chips will be included(GMA 900 and X200).

We actually won't be including GMA900 & RadeonXpress200M because they cannot in any way, shape, or form run any of the modern games (HL2, COD2, FEAR, Quake 4). We have tested GMA900 before and it was single digit frames per second all around.

We were planning to do an article comparing GMA900 & RadeonXpress200M, but it looks like time is running out for that and once Yonah hits in January that will be the big buzz then :D

Great review! :D

It's good to hear that the build quality on these Z60 machines is still top notch. Hopefully Lenovo will add an X700 or X1600 option when they update the Z series to the new Napa platform next year.
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

The X700 is going to be replaced by the X1600, so I'm hoping that is what we'll see :) 12 pipelines of 90nm goodness :D

I'm meeting with Lenovo tomorrow, so we'll see what tidbits I can get out of 'em ;)

yes the x1600 would be great. gpus was always something where ibm was always unneccassary way behind...there are already the first app. where you can video cod/encod. only with atis 1xxx gpus, without using the cpu....

Meh, we cancelled it since I was supposed to meet with the product manager and talk about the Z-series; both of which I've already reviewed! I tried to keep the meeting on the basis of dual core stuff, but he couldn't tell me :(

Oh well, I'll nab 'em at CES ;)

@fbrdphreak
Would you say older FPS games, like BF42/BFV, would run on medium settings pretty well with GMA 900.
