which is better... ????

#1 Post by jesical98 » Wed Jan 11, 2006 3:54 pm

i have never owned a laptop in my life... so
I am new to laptops and it is quite difficult to choose what the best option is out there...
but after a lot of internet surfing... i came down to two options... either the Z60t 2511E7U with the following specs.....
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
1 GB
100 GB
Titanium
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 760 2GHz
14.0"
1280x768
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
4.77-4.96
UltraNav
Ultrabay Slim
DVD Recordable
None
One year parts and labor (system battery: one year)
Integrated Gigabit Ethernet
56K V.92 designed modem
ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi Wireless
Fingerprint Reader Embedded Security Subsystem 2.0

OR THE ...................
Z60M 2529EAU with the following specs...
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
1 GB
100 GB
Titanium
Intel® Pentium® M Processor 760 2GHz
15.4"
1680x1050
128MB ATI Mobility RADEON x600
6.84-6.7
UltraNav
Ultrabay Enhanced
DVD Recordable
None
One year parts and labor (system battery: one year)
Integrated Gigabit Ethernet
56K V.92 designed modem
Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG
Fingerprint Reader Embedded Security Subsystem 2.0

I dont know why but I was impressed with the Z60M 2529EAU ... and i bought it last month... and ofcourse I am impatiently waiting for it still.. because shipment delays..
but i am anxious to know from more knowledgable people on this forum... if my choice was right... I know you will say it depends on how i use my laptop... but i simply want to know which one is better... because both are high end laptops and ... i want to know that i made a good choice..

and also what is the difference between ultrabay slim and ultrabay enhanced... because i bought the Z60M ..i am hoping the ultrabay enhanced is better.. :P

one of the reasons i opted for the Z60M was because in some reviews where both of them were presented /// i saw that the Z60M was brighter than the Z60t. and apparently the Z60m comes with a better graphics card... i am not a gamer... i will be using my laptop mainly for office word, excel or powerpoint and internet surfing... but i felt having a brighter screen,, was better then a dim screen to look at. so i hope i made the right decision there as well..
so at the end of the day my question is ..
did i make a good choice for a laptop... regardless of how and what i use it for... i mean which one is really better the z60t or the z60m...

thanks everyone..

What is better is a very subjective description at best; what will you be using it for? If you are going to be very mobile, I would tend to lean towards the Z60t; otherwise, you might want to think about the Z60m as it is heavier but generally offers more in the way of multimedia options. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Ultrabay Enhanced is better than Ultrabay Slim. It is standard, and can use more and better burners.

The Z60m is better than the Z60t in everything, except portability.
