Am I lucky or what?

#1 Post by tbu3 » Thu Jan 12, 2006 11:26 pm

My R51's motherboard went kapooft 4 days before its warranty expires. Now I'm feeling paranoid that the replacement might crash again and I don't have the dough to get another replacement just in case.

I was printing a document when my battery meter warned that it is sending my lappy to hibernate. I reached down to plug the AC and when I looked back at my screen theres nothing. The printing stopped and whatever I do it wont power back on.

Anyone has any idea what caused my motherboard to fail?

Have you tried removing the battery and restarting it? Did you try a different outlet for the AC adapter. I used to make the mistake of using an outlet that was controlled by a lightswitch (one that my son liked to play with).

I tried everything but nothing made it boot. IBM relaced the motherboard a week after. Just 4 days before my warranty expired. I remember leaving the laptop turned off but plugged on AC overnight without the battery a week before the incident. Does anyone think it may ba a factor?
