I have tried all sorts of (power) settings to get my R51 to stay on when I am waiting for (or on a) Skype conversation.
I have tried disabling Shut-off timers but the computer still seems to go to standby. To answer an incoming call I have to click on my user account and wake the system up. Thankfully the calling party knows this and lets the call ring until I amswer.
I don't seem to have the same problem on my X40 and I think that the X20 and A21 work when I shut off the timers.
