DVD Decoder

#1 Post by dbodoff » Sun Jan 22, 2006 3:16 am

Hello

I used to be able to play DVD's on my Thinkpad R32. But then I re-installed XP (to wipe out viruses...what else?) and I must have done something wrong, because now I can no longer play DVD's. I even tried installing trial version of WinDVD, and still no luck.

Does anyone know how I can get by DVD back up and running?

Thank you so much!

have you checked in my computer is your DVD player showing up there?
What hapens when you put a DVD in ?
Have you tried different DVDs?
If the player sees the movie when you check in my computer you can right click the DVD icon and click properties, then click the auto paly tab and see if your win DVD software is listed there. you can click restore defaults down the bottom apply and ok.
good luck

Windows XP cannot play dvd movies by default.

You HAVE to install a dvd player which in turn installes the codec/license which allows media player to play movies.

Get a real Power DVD or Win DVD.
