Energy Manager Thinkpad Z60M

#1 Post by pw » Fri Jan 27, 2006 10:51 am

Hi Folks,

does anyone have an idea where to get the energy manager for the z60M ? I removed it because there where errors (i couldn't change the energy profile anymore neither was i able to add custom profiles)

On Lenovo/IBM Website there is no download link available. The support told me to reset my system but this is an aweful suggestion combined with a lot of work getting the data saved etc.

please let me know if anyone has an idea how to get the energy manager back ;)

Thanks in advance,
cheers,
pw

Do you have the Software Installer installed on your system? If so, you can use that. If not, there here is the link to the Battery Maximizer program, which includes the power management utilities:

The one that you would get through the Software Installer would be a newer version, I believe.

I'm afraid Battery Maximiser pre-dates the Z series - the equivalent software on a Z60 is Power Manager but unfortunately the 1.10 version had problems so was removed from the web (this may be why you have trouble finding it. It should be back up soon, you could download v1.01 which should work from:

although, as the software is non-essential (you can use the machine without it) then I would probably wait for the latest version to be put back.

Thanks a lot for your replies.
I tried the power management utility, but it didn´t bring back the energy manager. Now i´ll try the old outdated version, maybe it´ll be updated through the software installer then ;)
