Newbie Question: Initial Charge Time

First time poster and I just received my first ThinkPad after dumping a Dell Inspiron and Sony Vaio. Just wondering if I need to let the battery charge for a certain time initially before I start using it? Thanks.

Generally, it is best to atleast charge completely for 24 hours before using it.
