A22m Issues HELP!

#1 Post by *F-BodyFanatic* » Tue Jan 31, 2006 9:55 am

I got a used A22m TP back in July 2005. It has been working fine, until yesterday. It blue screened on me twice, randomly rebooted, and locked up at least 10 times... all in one day. Like I said, up until yesterday, I never had an issue with this laptop.

The one time after it locked up, and I rebooted it, it gave me an error message saying "this system has recovered from a serious error" and gave me the option to report the error. Which I usually don't do, but I did it in hopes of it giving me some sort of clue as to what is causing this problem.

And fortunatly, it did help me out a little... it said it was caused by some driver fault, which caused the computer to lock up or restart.

I haven't installed any drivers lately... but I have my windows updates set to automatic & automatic install, so I assume that one may have become available, and it installed it for me.

Now, I'm clueless as to where to start, so I'm just wondering if any other A22m TP owners have had the same problem lately? And if so, if you've managed to track down what driver is causing the problem?

Any help is much appreciated!

A series reboot

My wife has had this happen a couple of times on her machines (first the A21e, then the A30). I was able to resolve the issue pretty quickly by rebooting in safemode then restoring to a previous point that the system was stable, at which point I backed up all the data. Then to be safe, I reloaded the machine, which usually ends up not only being more stable, but actually more time efficient as well. Both times, the issues were related to an unattended Windows update. I believe that sometimes they don't load right for gets a corrupted download.
