I doubt you would be cheaper adding these after market - you might as well just order the system with these specifications initially.

Probably true on the CPUs. Tom's Hardware reports only a 10% increase in performance from 2.0 to 2.26. But I think the EV-DO upgrade would be worth the price and perhaps the 7200 rpm hard drive. Especially given the lag time in getting a z60m.

Given that the CPUs on Ebay are going for about $650 - I could resell my CPU and make it a wash.

Yeah the EVDO components cost around $227. A new Verizon WWAN card is between $99 and $150 with a 2 year agreement. I think the built in is worth it since it provides seamless integration into Access Connections and the signal is strong and clear...

I was told on the Z60M the option for the built in is not available.

It is - on select models. The slot is there. Just buy the antenna and card and install it and it will work!

What would make them "select".

If you download the tabook.pdf - you can see all the models. You'll find there are models of the z60m with the EV-DO:

2531-83U
2530-36U
2530-37U

who made the decision to call these "select"? don't know.

a31pguy, I appreciate the information. The models you listed are Biz Black only. Here is a model with the Tita lid, 2529huu. Thanks again.
