Thinkpad R51 keyboard won't work

Thinkpad R51 keyboard won't work
hey i don't know if anybody ever came accross this kinda problem but
i got the thinkpad r51, now i have no idea what happened to it but the keyboard won't work, i didn't installed any programs etc....only the mouse that is functioning at the moment
i restarted it ,kept on pressing f1 and matter fact all F keys and nothing seem to work
I have no idea if i lost the drivers for the keyboard or its just something else
Any help would be very appreciated it

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums 
It sounds as if the connector for the Keyboard has either gotten loose or is malfunctioning; if I remember correctly, the Mouse connector is seperate from the keyboard connector, that would explain why the mouse still works while the keyboard doesn't. You could try re-seating the keyboard connector.

Hmmm; you could either send it in to IBM and have them repair it or order a Keyboard and do it yourself. The later option assuming, of course, that it actually is a problem with the keyboard and not something else.
