Radeon 7500 in A31 not stellar when using external LCD

#1 Post by tbessie » Mon Feb 06, 2006 3:49 am

I'm using a new 1600x1200 LCD via the analog video output on my A31 (Radeon 7500), and once I got it calibrated correctly, it looked okay, but not the sharpest I've ever seen.

Anyone know if this chipset is known for losing some sharpness via the analog port to a high-res monitor like this one?

As opposed to the general loss of quality that's always present when connecting a digital LCD monitor via an analog connection? Does it seem much less sharp than other things when connected to the same monitor via analog?

... I haven't got a machine with a DVI connector handy to try it out with. I'll need to do that for a comparison. How much does the signal usually degrade when going digital->analog, have you found?
