A21p PCMCIA issue

My A21p is having issues with the PCMCIA slot. No matter what card I put in, be it a WiFi adapter or not, the cards simply do not receive power and are not picked up by the system.

From what I can see, the pins are fine, and I gave it a blast of compressed air to clear out any dust, but still to no avial.

My A21p is running XP SP2 with all the latest patches applied, and the 1.11 version of the BIOS.

In the same vein, would it be possible to put a MiniPCI wireless card in an A21p. I know the IBM BIOS is finicky about that, but just a thought...
