Thinkpad Custom Thinkpad Order

Has anyone purchased a custom thinkpad using the CTO option? Seems like you can pick exactly which options you want instead of buying a preconfigured model.

Yes I did this, and ahahahahahahaha oh god the painful wait. Was told "ALL CUSTOM ORDER 4 WEEK, NO EXCEPTION", and 2 months later still no shipment.

Order custom and learn to knit or something.

I've been waiting over 1.5 months so far... getting ready to cancel order. I still want this machine, but man, customer service has been so horrible. Never get e-mail responses, never get my phone calls returned and nobody seems to have any answers. All they can say is that they have supply problems and another blaimed the Chineese new year.. blah blah blah...

Sorry you have to wait so long, really. I might have just gotten lucky.

Ordered custom Z60M on 01/28/06 with an "estimated Ship Date:02/13/06". I received it on 02/13/06. That is not bad at all. You need to just use the status of your order from IBM as a guide, the paperwork gets to its' destination before your equipment does. Now, I just have to find the time to break it in. What I see so far, I am impressed.

I called once, and the Sales Rep called me back within 24 hrs. He also left me a backup number. He responded very promptly. The experience has been rather professional.
