R50e - add bluetooth

#1 Post by ILoveBFLO » Wed Feb 15, 2006 12:54 pm

Will IBM part 91P7315 (the BMDC 200) work in my R50e laptop (1842-SLU)?

Thanks!

Hardware Maintenance Manual:

TABook:

you should be able to find that information in the TAbook :) it does mention (not customer upgradable) on page 66, but check it anyways.

The card itself should work, but your screen might not have come with the Bluetooth antenna. If not you should be able to fit one into the 15" screen, or you could roll the antenna underneath the keyboard, or use the AUX antenna from the wireless LAN...

If you need an antenna for your bluetooth, the one I used for my X40 works great and does not require you to disassemble your laptop:
